Sharon spent close to 40 years in the broadcast advertising and advertising agency businesses in San Diego. During those years she was involved with a number of industry focused non-profits and has served on the New Day Urban Ministries steering committee since 2019. She has attended Solana Beach Presbyterian church since 1999. Sharon is married to Rick and has one son. She enjoys reading, walking, and gardening when not working or volunteering.

New Day Urban Ministries is one of only two ministries common to the entire Presbytery of San Diego, which consists of 32 churches in the region. However, volunteers and financial contributions come from many denominations and sources.
