Dr James Grisolía is a practicing neurologist, currently serving as Chief of the medical staff at Scripps Mercy Hospital (2023-2024). He has served as a ruling elder at Point Loma community Presbyterian church where he has chaired the Mission Committee and continues as an active Mission member. He is Spanish speaking with family in Spain and advocates for health and social services for Latino patients and for diversity/inclusion in general. He also serves on the Boards of the Mercy Foundation and Epilepsy Foundation of SD County

New Day Urban Ministries is one of only two ministries common to the entire Presbytery of San Diego, which consists of 32 churches in the region. However, volunteers and financial contributions come from many denominations and sources.
